Harleyford For Sale

November 2001

Harleyford Golf Club, near Marlow in Buckinghamshire, is on sale with a guide price of £4 million.

The club is being put on the market by retiring chairman and founder Brian Folley, and property brokers Strutt & Parker expect it to attract strong interest.

"The sale of Harleyford provides a rare opportunity to acquire a top quality course in the affluent Thames Valley, only 35 miles from the centre of London," said Strutt & Parker partner William Hillary.

Harleyford has an 18-hole course, driving range and clubhouse converted from 19th Century farm buildings, all on the Harleyford Estate which itself dates back to the 13th Century.

The par-72 course is Donald Steel-designed and runs for 6,809 yards off the back tees. Opened in 1996, membership debentures are completely sold out and the club's turnover was in excess of £1.4 million for the year ending March 31, 2000.
