SABOTAGE AT THE LONDON GOLF CLUB

All golf clubs are open to attacks of vandalism, but at the London Club at Ash Green in Kent, a series of mystery attacks suggests someone with a vendetta. With two 18 hole golf courses - the Heritage and the International - close to the M20, the exclusive London Golf Club has recently suffered damage costing more than £100,000. All 18 greens of the Jack Nicklaus Heritage course have been attacked either with garden implements, spades, forks, etc, or by chemicals and one green has been so seriously damaged that it cannot be repaired until next Spring.

The club has put up a reward of £10,000 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.

Daniel Loh, the General Manager, said "It appears a team of people are behind this. They certainly know the course well and the movements of our security staff."

Kent Police are conducting an investigation including a theory that the club is being targeted by a gang attempting to devalue the property and then move in and buy it at a bargain price.
