| Treacy
to Step Down Veteran
EGIA committee member, clubmaker Chris Treacy, announced in Munich that he planned
to step down next month as managing director of Diamond Golf and Dynacraft Europe
in favour of his 33-year-old son Daren. Treacy
Jnr has been with the Sussex-based business for the last 16 years, most of them
as finance director. But
Treacy Snr, who has run the business for 22 years, will not be lost to the trade
- far from it. He intends to work from home after the changeover and will continue
to concentrate on his schools, public relations, exhibition and writing commitments. Treacy,
who taught himself the skills of clubmaking while working as course manager of
Oaks Park Golf Club, said: "I'm certainly looking forward to stepping back from
the day-to-day grind, but no way am I going to pack up work." |
