The Committed to Green Foundation

From the beginning of 2000, the Committed to Green programme will be developed and managed by a new, independent, not-for-profit Foundation, based in the UK. Its mission will be:

TO PROMOTE ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND SUPPORT THE CONSERVATION OF NATURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES THROUGH SUSTAINABLE SPORT AND RECREATION

The Foundation’s work will embrace existing facilities, new sports developments and the operation of major events, to ensure that conservation and sustainability issues are properly understood and taken into account, and to use these opportunities for communicating to all those concerned with sport and recreation.

Committed to Green is supported by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, European Golf Association, European Tour, British Olympic Association, European Commission, United Nations Environment Programme and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF International).
