Acushnet Sue Taylor Made

Taylor Made-adidas, already the subject of a writ from Callaway over the hiring of golf-ball executive Mark King, are now being sued by Acushnet, parent company of Titleist, Cobra and FootJoy Worldwide, for false advertising, trade dress infringement, false patent marking and trade secret misappropriation with respect to the InerGel ball line.

The lawsuit, filed in the Federal District Court in Boston, Massachusetts, contests Taylor Made's claims over distance loss to their rivals' balls due to moisture absorption and that other manufacturers provide moisture-sealed packages of balls to tour pros.

Acushnet also assert that Taylor Made misappropriated the moisture-seal package concept from it. Also Acushnet contend that Taylor Made wrongly obtained a patent on the concept.
