Drives Onward with Forged Titanium Driver 3-Peat!
- Tiger Woods, wielding his new prototype Nike Forged Titanium driver, has
become the first player in history to win the Bay Hill Invitational three consecutive
seasons. Tiger hit an amazing 100% of the fairways in the first two rounds en
route to an early lead. Playing a Nike Tour Accuracy TW golf ball, Tiger then
managed to hold off the competition, going three under on the back nine on Sunday
to secure the win. The Tour Accuracy golf ball is no stranger
to big tournament wins. Not only did Tiger use a Tour Accuracy to win at last
year's Bay Hill Invitational, he has won a total of 14 tournaments including 4
majors with it. Tiger looked both confident and comfortable as he walked up the
18th fairway wearing apparel from the Tiger Woods collection, a Nike Elite Feel
glove and the Nike dri-FIT tour TW cap toe shoe on his way to his first victory
of the 2002 PGA Tour season. Nike
Drivers 1 & 2 at Bay Hill - Michael Campbell holed a 42-foot chip on the
18th for birdie to close with a 71 and finish second, 4 shots behind Tiger. Since
his switch to the driver Campbell has finished second at both the New Zealand
open and Bay Hill, marking his best ever finish on the PGA Tour. Michael signed
a new contract with Nike Golf in January for full product endorsement to use the
Nike Staff bag, forged titanium driver and irons footwear, glove, Tour Accuracy
ball and apparel.
Could it be the driver?: Eight players have dramatically improved their
rankings in the total driving category from last season to this season on the
PGA Tour. Total driving is a category that measures combined distance and accuracy,
both highly desirable off the tee. As we were looking at the statistics, which
can be found on pgatour.com, we noticed that those eight players also had something
else in common - they have all switched to a Nike Forged Titanium Driver. While
there are many factors that affect the total driving statistic, it is our opinion
that the driver you decide to use is a pretty big one. So, instead of talking
about how the Nike Driver has a proprietary forged Beta Titanium face that gives
you exceptional distance and control. Or instead of talking about how the C.O.R.
of the Nike Forged Titanium Driver conforms by the thinnest of margins, giving
you incredible ball speed off the face. We thought we'd just let the numbers speak
for themselves. Driving Rank Improvement*
