Cobra Success Hits New Heights as Forward Orders Treble

Cobra reports massive increase in pre-orders for next season as retailers anticipate huge demand

It seems that nothing can stop Cobra as it accelerates back to the big time. The Acushnet owned brand, famed for producing high quality game improvement clubs, has seen an impressive upturn in fortune over the last 12 months and this has been reflected in massive pre-book orders for next season. Just five weeks after the trade launch of the 2003 Cobra product range, it has reported pre-book orders three times higher than at the same point last year, a clear indication that retailers do not want to miss out on the Cobra sales boom.

This year sales and orders in house are up 35% on the same period* last year, reaping rewards for Cobra’s retail partners and the key reason behind the high pre-books for next season. As Nick Tempest, Cobra’s UK Sales Director explains “At times this season demand has been so great for the King Cobra line it has been a real challenge meeting those needs. Clearly our retail partners are forecasting even bigger Cobra sales in their shops for next season and are pre-ordering in huge quantities to maximise that opportunity. To treble our forward orders in just five weeks is nothing short of phenomenal, this is a great time for the Cobra brand”

The King Cobra range of products, led by the big hitting King Cobra SS 370 Unlimited driver, has proved a real hit with retailers and consumers alike and for 2003 Cobra has added even more innovative products to the line up. The new King Cobra SS 430 Unlimited driver will sit alongside the highly successful 370 version, offering the consumer a larger 430cc head option that has all the phenomenal distance attributes of its counterpart. The end result is an unbeatable combination of distance, accuracyand forgiveness especially suited to the 9+ handicapper.
Over the last decade, King Cobra irons have been closely associated with game improvement, oversize technology and distance and the new King Cobra SS-i is no exception. Taking all the best performance attributes of its predecessor, the new irons are packed with added features to deliver improved feel, a larger sweetspot and greater distance. The urethane insert helps to absorb vibration, the 431 alloy head delivers softer feel and the longer blade length promotes a larger sweetspot.

With retailer confidence and consumer demand for the Cobra brand the highest they have been for many years, 2003 looks set to be another great year for the much respected game improvement brand.
