Sunderland Ryder Cup Coup

European 2001 Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrance has signed a three year contract with Sunderland of Scotland. Sunderland have been selected to provide the team outwear for the world’s premier golf championship.

Torrance has played in the Ryder Cup 8 times since 1981 - while Sunderland have a tradition of providing the outwear for the cup having supplied the team as long ago as 1965.

He is captaining the Ryder Cup Team this year and has pledged his support for Sunderland Rainwear for the next three years." he added "We believe there is no better golfing outwear than that of Sunderland of Scotland to enable the Ryder Cup Team to meet the challenge of the competition."

Torrance said "It is quite simple - Sunderland make the best possible golfing rainwear, I can’t imagine playing in anything better."

Sunderland will provide the outwear for The European team at the Ryder Cup. The official team wear comprising of jacket, weatherbeater, wind vest, fleece and hat.
