Junior Event Seeks Sponsorship

The Sunday Telegraph junior team championship, an annual event involving UK clubs, is seeking a second title sponsor.

For the sixth annual competition, which was won by Hampshire's Dunwood Manor at La Manga Club in southern Spain before Christmas, the Sunday
Telegraph was the only sponsor.

However, the organisers estimate that a further £50,000 is needed for the event to continue this year following the withdrawal of Saab due to a downturn in the new-car market.

"Until 2000, the competition has grown ever since it started," said founder Nigel Dolton. "Our entry was down this year due to the problems with sponsorship, leaving us with 1,000 clubs as opposed to over 1,300 last year."
