Searching for the Right Club Professional

The PGA of Europe has formed a partnership with a specialist recruitment company, Portfolio International, to provide career opportunities for its members. They have invited 12,000 professionals to place their CVs on Portfolio’s database and can now provide a comprehensive recruitment service to the industry both in the UK and elsewhere in the world.

The service is free to golf professionals but there will be a charge to future employers. The PGAE will continue to provide legal, financial and support packages on overseas country information for the professional’s family, which is so necessary when undertaking a major upheaval.

The recruitment service comprises a detailed search and interview technique that will ensure vacancies are matched to the most suitable applicant. To give an indication of the service offered, the following is PGAE’s step-by-step guide to the system:

  • The CV of any professional wishing to participate should be sent to Steve Hewitt at the PGAE Headquarters, The Belfry.

  • The CV will be checked over to ensure accuracy, suitability and PGA membership.

  • When confirmed as appropriate, the CV will be sent on to Giles Greenwood at Portfolio International.

  • Once inserted into the database the CV is available for consideration when clients seek a professional, for whatever role. Searches are carried out through the database to provide however many suitable contenders the potential employer would wish to interview.

  • Matching the vacancy with a suitable applicant is completed in a precise and thorough manner and interviews can be arranged to suit the convenience of each party at a variety of locations. Total confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Golf Clubs wishing to make use of this service should contact, Mark Vickery, Portfolio International, 5 Bream’s Buildings, London EC4A 1DY. Tel. 020 7520 5000. Fax. 020 7520 5001.
