Rose blooms at Dunhill and TaylorMade

Good things come two in a row and Justin Rose won his 1st Tournament on the European Tour and re-signed a long term equipment and apparel deal with TaylorMade Addidas Golf

TaylorMade Addidas Golf proudly announces that it has renewed its contract with one of Europe's brightest young golf stars.

Justin Rose first signed with TaylorMade adidas Golf back in January 1999 and has now committed to play TaylorMade equipment and wear adidas apparel/footwear for the next five years of his career.

" TaylorMade really take time to work with me whenever the need is there - always making sure that I've got the right clubs to fit my specific needs," said Rose. "Our partnership over the last few years has given me enormous confidence in my equipment.

The commitment that they have shown me means a lot." "Justin has had a great season on the European Tour," said TaylorMade-adidas Golf's Sports Marketing Manager Ian Watts. "He has impressed everyone with his tenacity and patience and we're excited that Justin has once again chosen TaylorMade adidas equipment to help progress his promising career even further."

At the recent Dunhill Championship in South Africa Justin went one better than last year's tournament to fulfill his huge promise by winning his maiden European Tour victory. Shooting a brilliant final round of 65 to finish on 20 under par, Justin won by 2 shots and in doing so secured a third tournament victory (first on European Tour) for the soon to be launched TaylorMade Prototype Putter.

Justin's switch to the putter produced tour success - just as it had done for TaylorMade colleague Ernie Els, who won with the putter twice pre-Christmas. "I was determined and down the stretch I kept saying to myself 'Justin, you're a winner. You are going to win this week. It's your turn" said Rose.

Justin also played a TaylorMade R360 Ti driver, 300 forged irons as well as wearing adidas Golf's Spring/Summer apparel and Z Traxion Tour golf shoes in South Africa. Rose has played with TaylorMade's R360 Series driver since its launch earlier this season, improving his driving distance dramatically.

Compared with last year, his average drive has increased by 13 yards to 288 yards, and his driving accuracy improved by nearly 11% to 65%. Justin is currently playing the 200 Steel Fairway Woods and 300 Series Irons as well as wearing the latest adidas Golf apparel and Z Traxion Golf Shoes.

It was not only Justin and the prototype putter that were grabbing headlines for TaylorMade at the Dunhill Championship. The 300 Series Driver started 2002 where it finished 2001: as Number 1 Driver on tour. All top nine finishing players at Houghton were playing the driver.

TaylorMade's fairway woods, irons and adidas' shoes also made dramatic progress in the other major equipment count categories. A massive 47 fairway woods, 26 sets of irons and 44 pairs of shoes were in play at the tournament: an increase of more than double in all three categories from the same event last year.

TaylorMade Golf has led the golf industry's technological evolution since being founded in 1979. In 1998 the company joined with adidas Golf, becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of adidas-Salomon AG.
