Shake-up at American Golf (UK)

Geary Leathers, managing director of American Golf (UK) for the past six years, is returning to the United States to work at the company's headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.

His replacement will be David Seidl, who started American Golf's first international venture in the United Kingdom in 1993.

"I look forward with great enthusiasm to rejoining the UK team," stated Seidl. "From our humble beginnings I have followed the growth and prominence of the UK region closely."

American Golf (UK) own or operate a total of 21 properties and are aiming for a portfolio of more than 40 courses, clubs and resorts by the end of 2003. Expansion on the continent of Europe is expected in 2001 with "numerous opportunities existing" in Spain, Portugal, France, Germany and Switzerland.
