| Taylor Made-adidas Golf Builds
Metalwood Team In
reaction to the unprecedented consumer demand of its new 300 Series metalwoods, Taylor Made-adidas Golf today announced two major changes
to its metalwood product marketing and R&D staff. The
announcement of Tom Olsavsky as director of product marketing, metalwoods, had
been a long time coming. Formerly the director of metalwood development, Olsavsky
assumed the new position for Taylor Made-adidas during the development of the
300 Series and has been an integral part of its early success on all professional
tours. John Hoeflich,
who helped lead the 300 Series to market as director of product marketing, will
now lend his innovative expertise to the irons division in the same position.
In addition, Scott Burnett returns to Taylor Made-adidas from a stint at Adams
Golf as director of product development and takes over Olsavsky's role of director
of metalwood development. "As
other companies in the industry consolidate, we continue to grow rapidly,"
said company president Mark King. "This trend speaks to our dedication
to innovation. Taylor Made-adidas will continue to build an industry-savvy core
team who wants to be a part of this success." Olsavsky
has been a part of the Taylor Made-adidas team since 1996, serving in many roles
for the company, including product development engineer, research engineer, senior
tour engineer and director of metalwood development. Prior to joining Taylor
Made-adidas, Olsavsky spent six years at Titleist as a member of the R&D team
as the lead metalwood engineer, testing new product on every major professional
tour. Olsavsky's
new responsibilities will include: developing product strategies for their respective
lines, giving each product its unique design (look, name, colour, etc.) ¾ as well as managing these tactics until it reaches consumers' hands. Burnett,
a former Navy S.E.A.L., has a masters degree in mechanical engineering from Texas
A&M. His passion and knowledge for golf helped him move quickly up the golf
industry ranks since joining Taylor Made-adidas in 1997 as a research engineer.
Burnett will be responsible for managing the entire metalwood product development
staff as well as mapping out the specific technological design of each metalwood
product to improve both distance and accuracy for each golfer. |
