German Jobs For Swan

Essex-based course architects, Swan Golf Design, have won two contracts to re-design courses in Germany, the Golf and Land Club Koln and Krefeld Golf Club.

Two of Germany's oldest and most prestigious members' clubs, both courses were originally designed by Berhard von Limburger in the 1930s.

At both courses, architect Howard Swan will report to the clubs with a five-to-10-year renovation and restoration plan. "Our practice's work at historic and traditional golf courses is increasing greatly, both at home and abroad, as clubs realise that the constant evolution of their courses is essential, that long-term planning is needed, and that each of these objectives is best put in professional hands," said Swan. "We are delighted to add Koln and Krefeld to our growing list of commissions in Germany. Both are wonderful clubs and we shall look forward to helping them restore their designs."

Swan's previous work in Germany was done at Hubbelrath near Dusseldorf.
