Made-adidas Golf Responds to Royal & Ancient Decision In
response to the Sept. 21 ruling by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club at St. Andrews
against any conformance test for spring-like effect in golf clubs, Taylor Made
Golf has issued the below statements: Statements
to be attributed to: Robin Gibson European Marketing Manager ·
"This ruling has no effect on Taylor Made. We will continue to make the
most innovative clubs in the industry, and have already proven this by developing
the longest, U.S.G.A.- sanctioned driver in the world. Our new 300 Series metalwoods
have gone head-to-head with these non-conforming clubs and they've consistently
proven to be longer and more accurate in tests and when put in play by the world's
best players." ·
Gibson pointed to examples of this innovative product’s success:
On the European PGA Tour, the 300 Series already has four wins and more than 30
top-10 finishes in less than two months. Additionally, at last weeks Belgacom
Open more than twice the number of players teed up with a Taylor Made 300 series
driver than with the competitive non-conforming club. ·
Gibson concluded that ultimately, face thickness is
only one element of the club’s design. With our 300 series we have optimised all
elements of the club and that’s why more players on the European
tour choose the 300 series over any other manufacturers model. |
