Premiere
Golf 2000 Gets Grass Roots Support In Spain Première
Golf 2000, the innovative new trade-only golf exhibition that has attracted the
majority of golf industry heavyweights to Marbella on November 14th
- 17th, has also secured widespread support from the key local tourist
boards and golf federations. Marbella
Town Hall, the Andalusia Tourist Board, the Costa del Sol Tourist Board
and the Andalusian Golf Federation have all committed tremendous support
to the event, which they see as an ideal opportunity to showcase the attractions
of Spain as the No. 1 golfing destination. They
will also use the Premiere Golf 2000 to promote Costa del Sol and the Andalusian
region as the heart of Spanish golf. Juan
Fraile, President of the Costa del Sol Tourist Board, said: “We
are delighted to be supporting Première Golf 2000. The appeal of having the leading
industry figures holding their major annual gathering in our region is that it
provides us with an ideal opportunity to demonstrate the great depth and quality
of the golf and tourism facilities in our region”. The
Marbella Town Hall, in particular, has been instrumental in helping the organisers,
Reed Exhibition Companies, to create the infrastructure necessary to make Première
Golf 2000 successful. Event Director, Robert Fairbairn, paid tribute to this support
by saying “Marbella and Andalusia have really embraced Première Golf 2000 since
we put our first proposals to the various boards and federations. With their support
we have been able to put together a programme that is the envy of all our competitors.
I feel sure that Première Golf 2000 will establish itself in Europe in much the
same way as our sister show, The PGA Merchandise Show, has done in Orlando, Florida”.
The
Premiere Golf 2000 show will provide companies such as Callaway Golf, Taylor Made-Adidas,
Titleist & FootJoy, Adams, Yonex and MacGregor the chance to unveil their
latest product developments and they will be joined by leading softwear companies
such as Ashworth, Lyle & Scott and Gear for Sport who will be unveiling their
Spring/Summer 2001 range to the market. |
