THE NEC GROUP EXTENDS ITS COMMITMENT TO GOLF

With plans for Golfexpo 2000 being finalised, the NEC begins preparations for 2001

The NEC Group and Ryder Cup organisers have announced a unique joint partnership for 2001.  For the first time ever, Golfexpo, Europe's premier
golfing exhibition organised by the NEC, and The Ryder Cup, one of golf's greatest sporting events, will combine to provide visitors with the biggest and most prestigious golf experience ever.

The Ryder Cup is to be hosted by The Belfry, Birmingham, in September of
next year and the world of golf will descend upon Birmingham during this
time. The  NEC will play a pivotal role in hosting the Ryder Cup Village at
Golfexpo during the famous competition, and provide essential facilities for
thousands of visitors.

Commented René Bros, NEC exhibition manager, "The Ryder Cup is the golfing
event in next year's calendar and we are obviously delighted to be working
alongside the organisers. The presence of The Village at Golfexpo will
enable all enthusiasts, with or without competition tickets, to experience
the Ryder Cup phenomenon.

"We know that bringing together one of golf's most famous competitions with
Europe's leading golf exhibition will deliver the biggest and best golfing
experience for the industry and its supporters."

The NEC has agreed to provide car-parking for visitors and transport to and
from The Belfry.  In addition, visitors will be able to complete their Ryder
Cup experience in The Village at Golfexpo and enjoy all the features and
attractions of Europe's leading exhibition.  Once the day's play has been
completed, they can then relax, eat and drink in one of the many refreshment
areas.

GOLFEXPO 2000 GIVEN INDUSTRY APPROVAL

Golfexpo 2000 is "the place to do serious business this year" according to
Cliff Dews, EGIA Chairman.

With the additional purchase of ClubHouse and the inclusion of a retail
area, Golfexpo 2000 will be the industry's most comprehensive exhibition
yet.
Pre-registration for the trade days is at an all-time high and ticket sales
for the public days are selling well.

"The NEC has done a first class job in consolidating the needs of the
industry and we believe that Golfexpo will be the best trade show that the
European golf industry has seen in years," concluded Dews.
