Win Court Battle With Spalding
Spalding Sports Worldwide have been ordered by an American judge to change the
name of their soon-to-be-launched Ecomfort golf shoe. The action was taken
in a Massachusetts Federal Court by Acushnet, the owners of FootJoy, who claim
that they first registered, used and marketed the name in January.
However, the judge, Douglas P.Woodlock, ruled that Spalding could continue to
use the word 'comfort' in the name of the shoe, which is the latest addition
to their Etonic range. The major issue behind this was to clear up any
confusion in the minds of consumers. FootJoy's Ecomfort golf shoe is due to be
unveiled in Europe later this month. |
