Golf Exports Rise
The United States exported 6.8 per cent more golf products in the first six months
of 2000 than during the same period last year.
This result compares with a 14.2 per cent decline in 1999, according to America's
Sporting Goods Manufacturing Association.
The largest increase in all categories to date this year has been a 219.4 per
cent rise in golf bag exports. Golf balls jumped a 101 per cent, clubs were up
112.8 per cent, and club parts, like shafts, heads and grips, grew by 99.3 per
cent.
According to the US Commerce Department, the total value of golf exports from
January to June 2000 was $418.1 million (almost £300 million). |
