GOLF FOUNDATION
APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR The
Golf Foundation has a new Executive Director. The organisation's Development Manager,
Michael Round was appointed this week following an extensive selection process
and will take up the post from the beginning of May. The
Golf Foundation's Chairman, Ian Peacock OBE said: "Mike is totally committed
to the growth of the organisation and has an excellent background in sports management.
He has been extremely successful in developing our coaching programmes and is
well respected amongst the governing bodies of golf. Both the Council and I are
delighted he has accepted the post.#" Mike
Round joined the Golf Foundation in January 1998 as Development Manager overseeing
the development activities across the British Isles. Since then he has been responsible
for the launch of the Starter Centre Initiative, promoting the revitalised Merit
Award Scheme, the Junior Golf Leader's awards and the appointment of a team of
4 Regional Development Offices in England. |
