Chesterton For Sale

A £1.25 million price tag has been put on the freehold of Chesterton Golf Club near Bicester, Oxfordshire, which is available for sale from Humberts Leisure.

Chesterton is an 18-hole parkland course which opened in 1974 and measures 6,229 yards while the 11,810 sq ft clubhouse dates from 1994. The business has been under the control of its current owners since 1983.

The potential for expansion includes the possibility, under existing planning consent, of extending the clubhouse to provide 51 bedrooms and leisure club facilities.

"Humbert Leisure has enjoyed considerable success in the golf market over the last 12 months," said Ben Allen, who is handling the sale from his company's new Winchester office. "During this time we have sold or let eight golf businesses. I envisage that this success will continue with Chesterton Golf Club which is a sound business with great inherent potential."
