PGA
Worldwide Golf Exhibitions Announces Changes for Fall Show
PGA Worldwide Golf Exhibitions,
a division of Reed Exhibition Companies, announced today significant changes to
the annual PGA fall show as part of an ongoing commitment to the industry to provide
the ultimate forum to conduct the business of the game. The
fall show, formerly known as the PGA International Golf Show, will now be named
the PGA Fall Expo to better reflect the show's function within the industry and
upcoming operational changes. The PGA Fall Expo will continue to be staged during
the month of September at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Among the first in
a series of operational changes will be a program capping maximum booth size at
2,000 square feet. "By
limiting booth size, we will be able to establish known expectations for exhibitors
and buyers alike," said PGA Golf Exhibitions Vice President and Show Manager Christopher
McCabe. "With this fundamental change, we hope to improve our exhibitors' efforts
to manage, budget and conduct business among competitors at the show."
Similar to Premiere Golf 2000,
the PGA Fall Expo will include the addition of a local golf course and on-site
facilities for product demonstrations, exhibits and hands-on testing prior to
and during the show. Additionally, next year's show will provide facilities for
large buying groups to hold "mini-shows" for franchise meetings and manufacturer
product reviews. "With
our family of worldwide golf exhibitions continuing to grow, we look to incorporate
successful programs from other markets within each show whenever possible," said
McCabe. "The concept of product testing areas and franchise meeting facilities
has been well-received by our VIP customers." PGA
Worldwide Golf Exhibitions also will expand current successful programs including
the Key Buyer Program, education programs by allied associations and industry
presentations hosted in partnership with leading golf organizations. Show
organizers also will review customer polling conducted in the upcoming weeks to
determine the level of satisfaction with the host city and event facility.
