CCA STEP UP EUROPEAN
GOLF DRIVE

CCA has boosted its European expansion programme by securing its first acquisition in Germany in August this year.

Dieter Klostermann, Chairman of CCA and the driving force behind the business, has acquired the prestigious Berlin Golf & Country Club in Motzen, Berlin from Philip Holzman, one of Germany’s leading construction companies.

The club, which opened in 1993, has played host to the German Masters four times in the last decade producing such notable winners as Severiano Ballesteros, Darren Clark and Bernhard Langer.  Designed by Kurt Rossknecht and built by British company Southern Golf, the course sits in a delightful pine woodland area 35 kilometres from the centre of Berlin and embodies an 18 hole course, a nine hole par 3 course and a driving range incorporating 9 covered bays, grass tees and 3 target greens.

The par 73 championship course, is a challenge to golfers of all abilities while the compact design of the clubhouse provides easy access to the pro-shop upon registration, the changing rooms and the caddy master area.  As for the culinary pleasures, high standard German gastronomy is offered with an international and exotic touch.

CCA have retained the management team at the club who have been taken to the company’s flagship property - Brocket Hall in England - to participate in a training programme while a senior operations manager has been installed at Berlin Golf and Country Club to oversee training there, the on-going development and membership sales drive.

Dieter Klostermann said recently: “I’m pleased to have been able to acquire such an important golf club in my home country and look forward to making it a real success under CCA’s management.”

Michael Longshaw, who heads up the new European operations department for CCA, added: “I am particularly pleased with the acquisition of Berlin Golf and Country Club and the immediate upturn in membership sales.  We have ambitious plans for the club which involve improving efficiency and profitability.”

Future plans for Berlin Golf and Country Club include the development of a CCA Golf Academy, the establishment of additional food and beverage outlets and a sauna.

Only a 30 to 45 minute drive from the historical Gendermenmark in Berlin and next to the famous Motzener See, the club also benefits from unusually sunny weather for the region thanks to favourable windstreams and lakes. It is also within walking distance of a 4 star hotel, while the residential units on the west area of the golf course will assist CCA’s plans to market the club as a golfing destination.
