To Consolidate Golf Club & Ball Operations After
reporting their successful second quarter earnings, Callaway have announced they
will be consolidating their golf club and ball operations. A spokeman stated this
was a result of a three year strategic review of the company, although it comes
at a time when the golf ball operation is continuing to lose money. The
sales, manufacturing, research and development elements of the ball and club operations
will be merged. Manufacturing and operations are to be headed up by Ron Drapeau,
the Senior Vice-President of Manufacturing; Mick McCormick, the Executive Vice-President
of Global Sales to head up the sales division; research and development will be
overseen by Richard C Helmstette, Chief of New Products. All heads will report
direct to Chuck Yash, Callaway's President. Callaway
also announced a new vacancy in the form of Director of Global Advertising and
hope to make an announcement about an appointment soon. |
