Under New Management

Stephen Carter has been appointed general manager of St Andrews Bay, the new £50 million golf resort, hotel, spa and conference centre being built in Fife.

Carter, 52, who has worked in the hotel industry for almost 30 years, has joined St Andrews Bay from Cliveden House where he was operations director
and general manager. Previously, he was general manager of Edinburgh's Caledonian Hotel and operations director in Scotland for Queen's Moat Houses.

St Andrews Bay, which is due to open next June, is a 520-acre development on
a cliff-top site overlooking St Andrews and featuring a 209-bedroom hotel,
two 18-hole courses (one designed by European Ryder Cup catpain Sam
Torrance), a spa and conference facilities. It is expected to create 200 jobs
locally and is owned by American entrepreneurs Dr Don and Mrs Nancy Panoz,
who run the worldwide Chateau Elan chain of luxury leisure and business
resorts.
