A-PLANT NETWORK TO EXPAND SHARE OF GROUNDCARE HIRE

A-Plant has announced an expansion of the company’s national network of businesses providing equipment hire to the groundcare market. There are now seven specialist Groundcare businesses across the UK, based in Manchester, Gateshead, Dunston, Peterborough and Storrington in England, Abergavenny in Wales and Irvine in Scotland. Therefore, as well as being one of only a few companies offering groundcare equipment for hire, A-Plant is the only company of its type to offer a truly nationwide hire service for the grounds maintenance, golf, amenity, forestry, landscape, horticultural and recycling industries.

As A-Plant is a member of the Hire Association Europe, the Association of Professional Foresters and the Institute of Groundsmanship, customers can be certain that whatever their requirements, A-Plant Groundcare has the knowledge and experience to provide the hire option best suited to their requirements.

Coordinating the expansion at A-Plant is Director of Marketing, Barry Stephens. He said: “This is a market with huge potential for A-Plant and as we have reinforced our position as the only national equipment hire company which can provide products and aftermarket service across the country, we are aiming for aggressive growth in this sector.”

With an average spend of £100 million per year on new equipment, A-Plant, Europe’s largest non-operated equipment rental company, has the youngest fleet in the industry. As well as being cost-effective, choosing to hire instead of buying overcomes idle machine time as groundcare equipment is used seasonally and can stand for parts of the year. Hiring also puts the responsibility for upkeeping of the equipment in the hands of A-Plant Groundcare and in the case of breakdown, the equipment will be repaired on-site by Groundcare engineers and/or a replacement machine can be provided to reduce downtime on-site.

A-Plant operates a full 24-hour, 7-day emergency call out service when and where required with nationwide coverage provided by over 720 A-Plant locations around the country.

The A-Plant Groundcare product range can be broadly split into five categories:

• Grasscutting – Every size of mower up to ride-on rotary mowers. A-Plant also carries a full range of Strimmers, Brushcutters, Power Scythes and Trimmers
• Lawncare – Aerators and Scarifiers from A-Plant help lawns breathe and improve drainage. Turf cutters, Seeders and Spreaders are also available from A-Plant
• Grounds Maintenance – Vacuums and Blowers from A-Plant help clean up leaves or litter. Ground preparation equipment includes Tillers, Rotovators, Stone Buriers, Stone Rakes and Trenchers
• Forestry Management – Chippers, Shredders, Chainsaws and Log Splitters reduce the volume of waste for landfill and recycling. A-Plant Grinders are the ideal tools to finish the job
• Heavy Duty and General Purpose Equipment – Compact Tractors with a multitude of PTO-driven attachments. A-Plant Mini-Excavators, Tracked Dumpers, Power Barrows, Port-Hole Borers, Trailers, Rollers and Bowsers complement the mainstream A-Plant Groundcare equipment.
